Childcare and proper funding of a state assistance program were topics at an Albany press conference.
Local lawmakers, child-care providers and parents were in Albany to highlight a growing childcare problem in NYS. According to Assemblyman Matt Simpson rural regions, such as the North Country, face additional childcare challenges. At a recent press conference at the state capital Simpson, fellow lawmakers and stakeholders called for a more stable funding structure for New York’s Child Care Assistance Program, such as the Assembly Republican “A Blueprint for Childcare (ABC) Plan,” which focuses on improving affordability, expanding access and supporting providers through targeted regulatory reforms and sustainable funding structures.
