The Legalized recreational adult use of cannabis in New York State was signed into law five years ago.
The five-year anniversary of the Marihuana Regulation and Taxation Act being signed into law has been reached in NYS. The Act legalized adult-use cannabis established the Office of Cannabis Management and laid the foundation for a regulated cannabis industry in NY. According to state officials, over the past five years the cannabis market has generated $3.3 billion in total retail sales and expanded to more than 600 licensed dispensaries statewide.
