Scam Alert

The Warren County Sheriff's Department warns that criminals are making scam calls to area residents.

Warren County Sheriff’s department has issued a scam alert.  They say area residents have reported calls from people identifying themselves as members of the Sheriff’s Office. The calls will appear on caller ID as either a blocked number or Warren County Sheriff’s Office. The criminals are telling callers they owe payments to clear a warrant, a citation, contempt of court, bail, or for failure to perform jury duty.  In a social media post, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging anyone who receives this type of call to disconnect immediately and call the Sheriff’s Office.
