New York Assemblyman Matt Simpson is backing new legislation aimed at cracking down on synthetic kratom products sold at gas stations and smoke shops. Simpson says the products can be highly addictive and in some cases more potent than morphine. The proposed “Synthetic Kratom Kills Act” would target concentrated and synthetic kratom products that lawmakers say pose a growing threat to young people and public health.
