Area Energy Projects

Renewable energy projects proposed for the area were a topic of discussion at a recent Albany hearing.

Assemblyman Matt Simpson questioned representatives from the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) at a joint legislative hearing yesterday regarding large-scale renewable energy projects in the area including the proposed Fort Edward Solar facility and battery storage developments in Northville. Simpson said these projects have sparked opposition from residents directly impacted.  He said, the response from the DEC at the hearing “reveals a disjointed approach to project approvals.”
