EV Buses

Highway Superintendents were in Albany to voice concern over heavier EV buses on North Country roads.

Highway Superintendents along with Assemblyman Matt Simpson and a group of bipartisan state legislators were in Albany to, in part, highlight the burdens imposed by the state’s All-Electric School Bus Mandate under the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act.  Preliminary data indicates that heavier electric school buses reduce road life by about 20% and increase maintenance costs.  Assemblyman Simpson said, “we support cleaner transportation, but the state must step up with real resources to prevent devastating burdens on our towns and villages.”
