Winter Olympics

There's an effort underway to bring the winter Olympics back to NY with events in NYC and Lake Placid.

The just completed Winter Olympics in Italy were the most geographically dispersed Winter Games in history.  This has further inspired former Assemblyman Billy Jones to keep pushing for the Winter games to return to NY State with events in Lake Placid and NYC.  Jones said he and an Assemblyman from Brooklyn have been informally working on the idea for a couple of years and believes it’s time to make the process more formal.  Jones acknowledged that a lot of details need to be worked but he said there is support from the state, NYC and the Olympic region.
