A SUNY Plattsburgh graduate with a degree in mass communications, Shearer began his broadcasting journey in high school and went on to work in radio and public television as a reporter, announcer, and director. Over the years, he has developed a measured, listener-focused approach to news, presenting information without spin and with respect for both the audience and the subject matter.
Shearer structures his newscasts to balance local, state, and regional coverage with public service information and human-interest stories.
