New York environmental officials have launched the 2026 online reporting system for harmful algal blooms across the state. The DEC says the NYHABS system allows the public to report suspected blooms through a mobile-friendly website and view current bloom locations on an interactive map. State officials are urging people to avoid water with green discoloration or surface scum and to report suspected blooms as warmer summer weather approaches.
