New York lawmakers joined members of the state’s beef industry Wednesday at the Capitol to recognize May as Beef Month and highlight the role agriculture plays in the state economy. The event featured representatives from the New York Beef Council and Beef Producers Association. Assemblyman Matt Simpson of the Adirondack region says supporting farmers is critical to protecting agricultural land and rural communities. He also raised concerns about large-scale solar projects replacing productive farmland across parts of New York.
