A bomb threat forced the evacuation of a Canada Street business in Lake George Tuesday afternoon. State Police say someone reported that a bomb had been placed near the street and was set to explode. Traffic was redirected while a Warren County explosive-detection dog searched 127 Canada Street. No explosives were found, and the investigation continues.

    The Warren County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who drowned Tuesday in Lake George as 30 year old Noel Samedy of Rego Park. Deputies say Samedy was swimming with friends near Green Island when he went underwater. Divers recovered his body in about 36 feet of water.

  • Putnam Man Killed in Farm Equipment Accident

    50 year old Karl Ohly of Putnam was killed Tuesday night after becoming trapped in a hay baler on Lake Road. Washington County deputies say Ohly had been operating a tractor and baler when the accident happened. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause remains under investigation.
