• Warren County Offers Free Emergency Preparedness Training

  Warren County residents can attend free emergency preparedness training October 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Human Services Building in Queensbury. The program will cover family emergency plans, disaster response and emergency supplies. Each family will receive a preparedness kit. Attendance is limited to 50 people and registration is required.

• Saratoga Wagering Rises as Attendance Falls

  Saratoga Race Course ended its longest summer meet with more wagering but fewer fans. More than 905 million dollars was wagered during 45 racing days, an increase of over 100 million dollars from last year. Paid attendance topped one million for the 11th straight season but fell by more than 16,000.

• New York Reports 46 Measles Cases

  New York has confirmed 46 measles cases this year, including 40 outside New York City. Health officials are urging residents to check their vaccination records and make sure they are current on the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine.

• Hudson Falls Police Seek Two Women in Robbery

  Hudson Falls police are searching for Shea Ball and Brielle Bartlett, who are wanted in connection with a robbery. Both women have brown hair and blue eyes. Police say anyone who sees them should not try to apprehend them and should instead contact the department.
