Police say Alisha Cooper intentionally set the fire and also tried to burn a truck during a separate incident. No injuries were reported, and investigators say the case may involve an ongoing family dispute.

• Malta School Bus Operator Faces Additional Charge

  A 49 year old Malta school bus operator is now facing an additional charge following an ongoing investigation. State Police say Donald R. Barnes Jr. was charged with third-degree sexual abuse after allegedly attempting to kiss a child under 17. Barnes was released on his own recognizance.

• Queensbury Student’s Films Selected for National Festival

  A Queensbury High School senior is getting national recognition for two short films. Jaden Telesco’s “Stuck in the Paint” and “Rearview Mirror” were selected for the All-American High School Film Festival in New York City. The festival runs October 16th through the 19th.

• Whitehall Man Arrested on Florida Fugitive Charge

  A 29 year old Whitehall man wanted on felony charges in Florida has been arrested. Authorities say Jabe J. Rockwell was wanted in Citrus County on charges of aggravated abuse of a disabled person and battery. Rockwell is being held without bail pending extradition to Florida.

• 3 Year Old Child Drowns at Argyle Home

  A 3 year old child has died in a drowning at a home in Argyle. The incident happened Tuesday at a residence along State Route 40 in Washington County. Authorities have not released the child’s name or details about how the drowning occurred.
