• Greenwich man faces felony drug-impaired driving charge

  A welfare check in Northumberland led to a Greenwich man’s arrest Friday night. Deputies say 44 year old Joshua D. Burns drove while impaired by drugs and without a court-ordered ignition interlock device. A prior DWI conviction elevated the impaired driving charge to a felony. Burns was released on appearance tickets for Northumberland Town Court.

• Wilton man charged with unlawful surveillance in bedroom

  A Wilton man is accused of secretly installing an imaging device in a bedroom without the occupant’s knowledge or consent. Saratoga County deputies charged 58 year old Darren A. Home with second-degree unlawful surveillance following a harassment complaint. Home was arraigned in Wilton Town Court and released on his own recognizance.

• Nettle Meadow Ends Cheese Production, Seeks Homes for Sanctuary Animals

  Award-winning cheesemaker Nettle Meadow in Lake Luzerne has stopped production. Co-owner Sheila Flanagan cites rising costs and overhead. The retail store will remain open for a few weeks to sell remaining cheese. Meanwhile, the business is seeking homes for 52 animals at its sanctuary in Thurman.

• Lake Luzerne budget proposal leaves out curbside trash pickup

  Lake Luzerne’s proposed $5.6 million budget for 2027 leaves out funding for curbside trash pickup. Residents would have to hire private haulers or take garbage to the transfer station if the plan is approved. A public hearing is scheduled for Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. at Town Hall.

• Homes sought for 52 animals as Nettle Meadow winds down

  Fifty-two sanctuary animals in Thurman need new homes as Nettle Meadow winds down. The Times Union reports co-owner Sheila Flanagan is seeking homes for older goats, miniature horses and potbellied pigs. Animals still needing placement in about a month will move to a smaller farm.
