Saratoga County Inmate Charged in Jail Assault

A Saratoga County Jail inmate faces a felony assault charge after allegedly attacking another inmate last month. Deputies say 22 year old Shayne Vaccaro of Halfmoon struck the victim’s head against a toilet on July 19. The victim was hospitalized with face and head injuries. Vaccaro remains in the county jail.

Ovitt also faces a weapons charge.

The animal was spotted around 6:35 a.m. State wildlife officials say moose are most active from dusk to dawn and warn drivers to use extra caution because vehicle collisions are a significant cause of moose deaths.
