The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued a swimming advisory for Turtle Island on Lake George through at least July 14th. Swimmers are urged to avoid the area around campsites one through five because of one or more beavers that may be infected with rabies. Boaters and campers are also being told to avoid contact with the animals and report any unusual behavior to DEC.
