• Saratoga County Man Charged With Animal Abuse

  41 year old Sirell Fiel of Day faces two animal abuse charges after authorities found a dead cat at his home. Investigators say he also failed to provide proper care for a dog. Four other cats and the dog were taken to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.

• Aviation Mall Carnival Opens in Queensbury

  The Aviation Mall Carnival opens today in the parking lot behind JCPenney in Queensbury and runs through Sunday. The event includes rides, games, fair food and motorcycle stunt performances. Admission and parking are free, with ride tickets and unlimited-ride bracelets available for purchase.

• Saratoga Springs Man Gets 15 Years in Drug and Gun Case

  Anthony Correra of Saratoga Springs has pleaded guilty to 13 drug and gun charges and will serve 15 years in state prison. Investigators say they seized more than 2.5 kilograms of cocaine, two loaded handguns, suspected methamphetamine, pills, ammunition and cash from his home.

• Queensbury Firefighter Hurt in Ladder Truck Malfunction

  A Queensbury firefighter suffered non-life-threatening injuries after falling about 25 feet when an aerial bucket detached from a ladder truck. Brian Novohradsky was taken to Albany Medical Center. Two other firefighters were left hanging upside down for about 45 minutes and were evaluated at Glens Falls Hospital.

• Hudson Falls Man Faces Child Exploitation Charge

  51 year old Kenneth L. Bates of Hudson Falls faces a felony charge of possessing a sexual performance by a child. State Police say a cybertip led to the investigation. Bates was arrested July 23, processed in Queensbury and released with an appearance ticket for Kingsbury Town Court.
