• Missing SUNY Adirondack Student Found Dead

  An 18 year old SUNY Adirondack student reported missing Monday has been found dead in the Hudson River. Authorities say Dominick Carrey’s phone was discovered near Hudson River Park. Divers recovered his body Wednesday afternoon near the Interstate 87 overpass. The investigation is continuing.

• Mobile Sports Betting Revenue and Gambling Calls Rise

  Mobile sports betting generated $1.3 billion in New York tax revenue during the latest fiscal year, making it the state’s second-largest gaming revenue source behind the lottery. A state comptroller’s report also found calls to New York’s problem gambling hotline increased eight-and-a-half percent between 2020 and 2025.

  New York has been named the nation’s safest state for teen drivers for the third consecutive year. A WalletHub study ranked the state second in overall safety and driving laws. New York also recorded the fourth-fewest teen driver deaths per capita and the third-fewest teen DWI arrests.

• Nearly 500 Pounds of Marijuana Seized

  Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies seized 489 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop Tuesday on the Northway in Clifton Park. 46 year old Kevin Wilbur of Brushton and 23 year old Quinton Carle of Bombay are charged with first-degree criminal possession of cannabis. Wilbur remains jailed.
