Adirondack Shoreline Exceptions Reach Record High

Adirondack Park Agency data show locally approved shoreline setback exceptions more than doubled over a decade, reaching 169 in 2025. Most involve Lake George communities, where conversions of camps into year-round homes are helping drive demand. Queensbury leads in referrals and reversals over the past five years.

Passenger Killed in Granville Crash

New York State Police say a passenger was killed and a driver seriously injured when their car struck a utility pole in Granville early Sunday. Troopers responded to State Route 22A around four in the morning. The passenger died at the scene. The driver was airlifted to Albany Medical Center.
