• Schenectady Man Accused of Theft and Impersonation

  64 year old Sheldon Generette of Schenectady is accused of stealing merchandise from the Target store in Wilton, then giving deputies another person’s identity. Investigators say he also signed that person’s name on a booking document. Generette faces forgery, petit larceny and criminal impersonation charges.

• Albany Man Sentenced in Queensbury DWI Crash

  27 year old Justin Myers of Albany has been sentenced to two to six years in prison for hitting a man using a mobility scooter on Bay Road in Queensbury. Prosecutors say Myers fled the January crash and had a blood alcohol level of point-24 when arrested. The victim suffered serious injuries.

• Officer Describes First Contact With Frattolin

  A Warren County sheriff’s officer has testified that Luciano Frattolin’s first words were, “she’s gone,” when police arrived to investigate his missing daughter. Jurors also watched body-camera and interview-room video. The defense questioned why it took nearly three and a half hours to issue an Amber Alert.

• Homelessness Falls Statewide but Rises Across Many Regions

  New York’s homeless population fell nearly 8% between January 2024 and January 2025, according to State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli. The decline was driven mainly by New York City, while homelessness increased in 17 of the state’s 25 reporting regions. Children account for nearly one-third of the state’s homeless population.
