Law enforcement agencies across New York issued nearly 60,000 tickets during the state’s latest Speed Week crackdown. The August 3 through 9 campaign included more than 16,000 speeding tickets and over 1,500 impaired driving arrests. State officials also unveiled a new speed awareness billboard in Saratoga County that uses a traffic camera to display how fast passing vehicles are traveling.

  • Fort Edward Man Charged With Arson

    31 year old Nicholas Oliver of Fort Edward is facing felony charges following an August 12 apartment fire. Authorities say Oliver intentionally set the fire, which spread through a multi-unit building on Third Avenue. Everyone escaped without injury. Oliver is charged with fourth-degree arson and first-degree reckless endangerment.

  • Greenwich Man Charged in Crash That Injured Four

    Jameson J. Ricketts of Greenwich is facing three counts of endangering the welfare of a child following an August 2025 crash on Eddy Street. Police say Ricketts was speeding when his Audi left the road and struck a tree. Four people were hurt, including two who suffered severe injuries.

  • Traveling Memorials Coming to Glens Falls

    The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall and a 9/11 Memorial Wall are coming to Crandall Park in Glens Falls this weekend. A procession will bring the displays into the city Thursday morning, with an opening ceremony Friday at 10. Both memorials will remain open around the clock through Sunday.
