State Senator Dan Stec and Assemblyman Matt Simpson welcomed the Queensbury Varsity Boys Nordic Ski Team to the Capitol in Albany to honor the team’s state championship season. The team captured the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Nordic Ski Championship in February, marking Queensbury’s seventh state title in the sport. Queensbury senior Alden Guay was also recognized for winning the individual state championship. Lawmakers praised the athletes, coaches and families for what they called a remarkable season and for representing the North Country with pride.
