  The state DEC warns swimmers to avoid the Turtle Island area of Lake George through at least Tuesday after a dead beaver tested positive for rabies. Officials cannot confirm whether it was the same beaver that bit two people July 4. Boaters and campers should avoid beavers and report unusual animal behavior.

  35 year old Danial Decker of Porters Corners faces a felony grand larceny charge after Saratoga County deputies say he stole more than four pounds of cannabis from a Route 50 business in Wilton. The thefts allegedly happened over nine months, with the cannabis valued at more than $3,000.

• Saratoga County Man Charged After Dog Shot and Killed

  28 year old Daniel Van Aken faces aggravated animal cruelty charges after Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies say their investigation shows that he shot and killed his dog with a shotgun. The alleged shooting happened June 29 on Fish House Road in Providence.

• Kingsbury Man Charged In Burglary Investigation

  A Kingsbury man is facing multiple charges after a burglary investigation in Washington County. Deputies say 29 year old Erik Saheim-Beagle allegedly broke into a home, stole property, then threatened a nearby resident with a hammer before being subdued until deputies arrived. He was charged with burglary, attempted assault, menacing and other offenses.

• Saratoga Springs Man Indicted On Drug And Gun Charges

  A Saratoga Springs man has been indicted on multiple felony drug and firearm charges. Prosecutors say 34 year old Anthony Correra sold cocaine to undercover investigators over a three-month period. A search of his home allegedly uncovered more than five and a half pounds of cocaine, loaded guns, ammunition and drug trafficking equipment.
