The state DEC warns swimmers to avoid the Turtle Island area of Lake George through at least Tuesday after a dead beaver tested positive for rabies. Officials cannot confirm whether it was the same beaver that bit two people July 4. Boaters and campers should avoid beavers and report unusual animal behavior.

A search of his home allegedly uncovered more than five and a half pounds of cocaine, loaded guns, ammunition and drug trafficking equipment.
